LETTERS TO EDITOR
Cornwall Park Hedges Sir, — 1 decidedly agree with "Ratepayer" with regard to the removal of the hedges around Cornwall Park and vould like to mention that picnic parties would also be deprived of a corner in which to enjoy the summer shade and would have to rest under trees which would be open to the road and to all passing traffic. The ide'a oi liydrahgeas is ridiculous ; where one. could have a green liedge, instead, in the winter, we would have rows' of sticks. The children are already making plans as tio the tracks they intend to make for easy access to the park. Also, there is the question of passing stock, of which a considerable number pass along Tomoana road ; and sheep and cattle can soon damage the turf. In my opinion Cornwall Park would lose much of its English. charm if denuded of its hedges, and I am certain that if a petition were taken from the residents around the park the hedges •would certainly remain. — Yours, etc., "ANOTHFR RATEPAYER". Hastings, August 6, 1937.
