Stiff Southerly for Springhok Match
(By Teleerraph-
WELLINGTON, This Day. A, fierce southerly which came up yesterday afternoon and raged thoughout the night, threatening the suceess of th match between the Springboks and Wellington, brought little rain and the ground remains in good condition. Prospects are th'at the afternoon will continue fine but with a stiff southerly breeze along the playing ar.ia. Heavy clouds still show from the south, however, and thx*e is some uneertainty as to whether s"ualls- may not still come over. A thousand or more people were queued up waiting and some hundred or more members of elubs made up a body of voluntary workers to handle the erowd inside, as well as 40 paid commissionaires. The police force inside and outside the ground exceeds 40 in number. There was a huge influx of visitors to the city, all roads literally leading to Athletic Park. Adopting their customary poliey, the Springbok team left the city to spend the morning out of town. It is doubtful if S. C. Louw will be playing to-day owing to a knee injury. The score at 2.45 p.m. was: — . SPRINGBOKS 8 WELLINGTON 0
