BLUE AND PINK SCHEME AT HASTINGS WEDDING

RILEY— JESSOP The wedding was solemnised at St Matthews' Church, Hastings, on Wednesday evening of Adaline May, daughter of Mr and Mrs A, Jessop, Copeland road, Hastings, and Steveu Jackson, son of Mr and Mrs T. P, .Itiiey, of Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.4 The Bev. K. Liggett officiated at tLe ceremony. The brid,e who was given away by her father, wore a gown oi' magnohi satin with pannelled skirt f orming a circular train. The bodice was cut with a high gatbered neckline finished witj a Queen Elizabeth collar and the aeg-of-mutton sleeves fitted tig/utly at the wrist and were caught with tiny satin1 covered bnttons. Her tulJe veil was arranged with an orange biossom halo and she carried a sheaf oi lilies. The two bridesmaids were the Ivlins es Joyce Bell and Joyce Laje and their gowns of pompadour satin were in pink and blue respectively, fashioned on fitting lines with a posy oi flow ers at the neck and the waist defined with a plaited gjirdle. Each xraid wore

silver shoes and a floral halo and carried a bouquet, in blue and pink shades with maidenhair fern. Mr William Partridge was best man and Mr Verney Kale, groon.sman. Following the ceremony & receptioa was held m the Friendiy Societ 's Hall, Hastings, where about 70 o-uests wero received by the bride s parents Mrs A. Jebsop wore a gjrey oostume, with raatohing hat and aecessqriee and carried a beautiful bouquet of pii»a flowers. The wedding breakfast was a •. ery happy one with tbe usual toasts honoured. Mr B. Keast was M.C., and music was played by Messrs O. Walker and S. Kitt. When the bride and bridegroom left for Taupo, where their houeymoon is to be spent, the bride fcravelled in a black tailored costume and black hat and accessories. Many beautjful wedding presents were received, among them being a xylonite toilet set, which was the bridegroom's present to the bride. Among the guests were : Jlrs D. MoDougall, Mrs J, McDougial sistere ot the bride, Mrs A. Spencer, and many relatives and friends.
