N.S.W. COAL DISPUTE
Miners Still Ready To Strike SYDNEY, Aug. 6. There have been no tangible develop- ! ments in regard to the threatened coal j strike since the compulsory conference | early in the week which, as aiready ; cabled, adjourned until next Tuesday. All Broken Hill Proprietary pits are at present idle, the men having refused ,work since the stay-in strikes. Sectionial strikes are still in progress atjpits 'elsewhere. The coal-owners have been holding conferences daily on their proposed icounter log to miners' claims. The miners' executive which also met fre•quently since , Monday, decided that if the owners' proposals are considered unreasonable, work shall cease throughout the State and that coal from i Queensland shall be declared black. They point out that all preparations are completed for a general stoppage of work next week in the event of negotiations with the owners collapsing on Tuesday.
