Fruitgrowers and Co-opera-tive Organisation PRESIDENT'S COMMENT

(From

WELLINGTON, This Day. Whether growers as individuals were doing all that they could do to promote the wclfare of their own organisations and their industry in general was the qu&stion raised by the president, Mr T. C. Brash, at the Dominion conference qf the .Fruitgrowers' Federation in Wellington. "We need at time© to turn the searchlight upon ourselves," said Mr Brash. "Are we seeMng to be as efficient as we should be in the working of our orehards? Are we seekihg to do our utmost? Are we being loyal to our own organisations in order to make them as effective as possible? I wonder. Are we seeking from our organisations good just for ourselves or for the growers in general? Are we prepared to sink our individual viewpoints in order to build up a strong co-operative organisation? Are we not more content with sellish motives? Are we going to maka our organisation what it should be? . . "A selfish attitude means building on ■ sand," he added, "and growers should know that perfectly well. We also have to remember that- where there is no vision an organisation will perish. "
