Maori Charged With Reckless Driving Charged with reckless driving causing death, a Maori, Gerald James, of Otatara, aged 27, appeared before Messrs. P. J. Annan and F. K. de Castro, J.P.'s, in the Napier Magistrate 's Court this morning and was remanded on bail to August 16. The charge is the seqqel to an accident near Greenmeadows on the morning of June 27, when a car driven by James collided with a power-pole and a young Maori nained Moananui Tareha was killed. Ddtective K. W. Mills asked for the remand, to which Mr. H. le Pine consented for the defendant. Bail was allowed for the sum of £10(1, with one security of a like amount.
