Championships To Be Held at New Plymouth

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. 1 The rebate of all affiliation fees payable to the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association for last season by 'constituent centres was approved at a meeting to-night of the council of the Association on the recommendation of a sub-committee that had been set up to consider what acfciop. should be taken. Only one centre had paid affiliation fees for last season, it was reported, and the fees that would be remitted amounted to about £170. The New Zealand senior swimming ehampionship meeting will be held in New Plymouth on January 8, 10 and 12, according to a decision made to-night by the council. The dates .originally fixed were January 5, 6 ahd 8, and the change was made at the request of the Taranaki centre. The council also decided to recognise as a Dominion intermediate girls' reeord the performance of Miss A. J. ilcDonald, of Invercargill, in swimming 100 yards in 77 4-5sec. The record was created in June at Invercargill.
