WAIROA, Last Night. The annual meeting of the Wairoa A. and P. Society was held in the Opuntv Qouneil Chamberg, there being a fair attendance. The president said that the matter of transport had been gone into in connection withvthe show stock, but difficplties had arisen, and he hoped what had been done in the matter would be acceptable. ■ • He also reported on the Young Farmers' Olub hiovement, whieh had been successfully launchea and was going strong under the management of Mr B. Powdrqll, The sub-committee deserved thanks for all they had done in the matter. Ari apology wa^i made on behalf of Mr Habgood, a member, who was 111 in , hospital, and sympathy was expressed with - him. Election of Offlcers The election of offlcers resultefl as follows, all being returned unopposed: President, Mr A. T, Carroll; vice-presi-dent, Mrs Humphry Bayly; treasurer, Mr J. W. B. Macdonald; committee, Messrs J. Brownlie, H. Chriohton, T. M. Cpnnell, A. O. Delautour, S, A. Dickie, D. H. Evans, O. Evans, M. Glynan, N. S. Hill, H. M. B. Delautour, Hata Te Polti, T. W. G. Dates in couueotiqu with. the Shpw were then submitted, the races having been fixed for February 3 and 5, Tke show date was fixed for February 2, and the 4th for the Huramua sports, to be held again in aid pf the premanent iniprovelnenta i'und, On the ffiPtion pf Mr Oooper, it was made a recommendation to the incomjng committee to revise the rules, now nearly 20 years old, with a speeial view to provjde that a certain number only of the committee should retire each year. A vote of thanks, to the chairman closed the meeting.
