(By Telegrapb-

MASTERTON, Last Night. A converted try on the call of time gave the Canterbury Eugby xepresentatives a 13 — 8 win over Wairarapa. Hard and fast though it was the game lacked colour untii well on in the second spell wh*n with the score eight-all both sides gave all they had in-a determined effort to decide the issue. Wairarapa had the better of the opening exchanges, but Pawson eventually turned the tide and with their securing plenty of the ball the Canterbury backs were well in the picture. The fortunes fluctuated for two-thirds of the spell when J. Walker put Wairarapa on the seore-board with a fine penalty goal. Then Canterbury scattered the home defence and Pawson scored tor Nolan to convert. After Wairarapa had been driven off Pawson fooled Roach to race across. White missed. Play improved considerably on refcumption and Wairarapa 's efforts were rewarded when Fredraz forced his way across for Grantham to convert. With honours easy a stern battle ensued and a draw seemed likely when five minutes to go Mortlock made an opening to send Milliken across and Whito converted. Wairarapa made a final effort to pull the game out of the fire and though Walker missed a field goal by inches no side aounded with the scores unchanged. t
