Slight Easing on Some Lines atStortlord With an entry of approximately 500 sheep, the- sale. in the fat sheep teecFon at to-day 'e sale at Stortford Lodge saw values fairly well maintained at last week's rates, with a slight easing on some lines. The quality of the entry was quite good, with several exceptionally good lines of station ewes ineluded, one pen of whrich, offered on account of Mr T. ' Gillespic, and in from Omakere, making to 38/-. ' Selected entries and prices paid, from which an idea of the state of the market may be obtained^ are as follow: — * Ten well grown and finiehed 'ewes sold to 27/-. Two blackface hoggets, fairly grown and 'finished, made 27/-, a further two making '26/2. Seven Down-cross two-tooths, well grown and finished, met good competition to sell at 29/8. A single prime wether hogget made 36/9y A further hogget, in similar order, sold- at 35/-. Seven Down-eross hoggets, medium framed and finished, made 19/-. Seven Southdown wethers, fairly grown and well finished, on account of Mr E. Wall,"so]d at 27/6. . Ten prime heavy wethers, big framed sheep( sold out at 37/8. A further four made 36/6. A single big framed prime »ewe realised 36/6 after a good run of bidding. A further three ewes. not so. -well grown, but prime, made 34/3. A line of 29 ewes, lorried in from Omakere, including several maiden sheep, on account of Mr T. Gillespie, a good line of well grown prime sheep, met the market at 38/- after a, keeu run of bidding. A further 11 Omakere ewes, not so heavy, but good sheep, made 35/-.
