Kempthorne, former Bishop of Lichfield, is expected to visit New Zealand this month. Bomaine Wright, of Hastings, vvIiq has been seriuusly ill witli pneumpnia and is a patient at the Bqyston Hospital, Hastings, was reported this afternoon to have shown a decided improv-ement during the last two dqys. Sir Herbpvt How biggin, C.M-G., whq resigned the positiqn of Inspeetor-Gen-eral of Police in Geylon at the beginning qf fhis year, will arrive at Wellington fropi Sydney hy the Wanganella to-day, He has been in Melbourne and Sydney making nuofficial inqniries into police methods, Mr, T. B. Wright, brauch manager. of Messrs, Wright, Stepkpnson and C.o., Ltd,, at Wanganui, has been transferred to establish the company's interests iu Melbourne. A- Bennett, Bishop of Aqtearpa, visited Auckland at the v,'eek-end to, supp.qrt the annual appeal on behMf the Maori Mission in the Auckland Diocese, The bishop preached tQ lnrge congregations in St. Mark 's Ohnrch, Bemuera, in the morning, and in St. Mary's Cathedral in the eveniqg. In the afternoon ho visited the Queen Victoria Sehqol for Maori Girls and conducted a serviee in the native church at Orakei, which was filled. He returned to Hastings yesterday.
