WAIROA, Last Night. The ninth annual meeting of the Wairoa Herd-Testjng Assqciation was held in Wairoa on Saturday, Mr A. T. Carroll presiding over a fair at* tendance, I Ji mpving the adoption of the annual report, the cfiairman said tfiat it spokp for itsplf, but it did not appear yet as if tfie farmers fully appreciated the value pf fierd-testing. He said that while Pther clubs fiad been fqrced to raise their charges Wairoa 's had remained tfie same, Mr H. deLautour congratulated tfie committee and Mr T. H. Hall on their success. The chairman said that the test figures were not being given the attention to which they were entitled at ihe hands of the stock auctioneers. Th report was adopted. On the motion oi Mr deLautour, the committee was authorised to in* clude a refund of benzine charges or mileagp to the copanijttee, It was left to tfie cQmmittee to interview the stock auctioneers to secure a better realisation of the herdtesting figures. Messrs T. H. Hall and G. F. Jardine were re-elepted to the committee unopposed. Tfie (xuditors, Messrs Harker and Pether, were reappointed, Mr C. W. Packwood, manager of the Wairoa branch of the New Zealand Lean and Mercantile Agency Company, presentcd the cup donated by the firm, to Mr T. H. Hall for tfie higfiept average, 419 lbs. of butterfat in 313 days, favourable ref erences being made to the runners-up, and tfie fiope expressed that someone else would chase Mr Hall for the eoveted honour. Messrs Hall, Young and deLautour aeknowledged the compliments'.
