A meeting of fhg Nppief brapch committee of the Hawke's Bay War Relief Association was held on Monday. Bresent: Messrs. G. S. V. Wenley j[in the chair), H. Steele, T. H. Ringland, G. B. Menzies and the segretary, Mr. J. D. Bowlapd. Lqave of absence Was granted to Dr. H. F. Berneau. A statgnmpt of payments and receipts fpr Jply, 1937, was placpd before the meeting, and tfiis showed that the transactions for the montk had been as fpllQw:— Payinppts: Grants to poldiers 53, £99 19/9; grants tp dependents p, £2Q 9/5; loaps tp solfiiers 9, £65 16/10; payments on account of other societies 19, £62 1/11; total, £248 7/11. . Bsceipts: Loans refunded by soldiers 21, £161 5/1; pefuuds on account of other societies 2, £22 10/-; rent collected, £2 12/6; total, £186 7/7.
