LONDON, August 2. -Tlie.' Daily Telegraph's diplomatic, eorrespondent says Mr "Neville Chamberlain' s letter to, Signor Mussolini suggested a meeting of parties to tho JLoearno -Pact in London in October. Mr Eden is already sonnding Germany with a view to the attendance of Baron, von Neurath. Count Oiano's (Italy) visit depends on Britain recognising Italy's sovereignty Jn .Abyssinia, which is largely dependent on the Leagne Assembly's torthcoming decision. Mr Chamberlain is desirious'that the Abyssinian position should be clarified in order to remove *n obstacle to European appeasement. It is believed that4 Mr. Chamberlain jeonsiders that, if a general European yeconciliation is achieved, probiems arising from the Spanish war will dismppear. _ ' No doubt is felt that Signor Mussolini will reply with an equally friendly letter, as it is nnderstood that Mr. Chamberlain emphasised that Britain desired to see Anglo-Italian relations placed again on the same basis as before the Abyssinaan war. The British Ambassador at Borne, Sir Erie Drummond had a "long and cordial meetings with Count Ciano and discussed Mr. Chamberlain 's letter and the state of Anglo-Italian relations.
