AUCKLAND, Last Night. A postman with long ahd hitherto unblemished reoord, Raymond George Nelly, aged 34, pleaded guilty in the Police Court this morning to 25 charges of tbeft as a postal officer of paekets containing a total of £49 9/4. It was stated that the money was spent on paying monoylenders and bookmakers. In a statement, acoused said ihe kept all the letters from which he had taken tho money with the intention of replacing tho money as soon as he was in a position to do eo. On two eocasiona he had replaced sums of £1 and delivered the letters. Kelly was oommitted to the Supreme Court for sentence.
