BRIDE ATTENDED BY FOUR MAIDS IN GOWNS OF CHERRY GEORGETTE
MACKENZIE — SHERRATT •Four maids in lovely gowns of cherry georgett'e made a colourful group of attendants for tlie bride, Racliel (Jhristiue, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs Thornley Sherratt, "Wharenui," Hastings, at her marriage to Harold Harman, tliird sou of' Mr and Mre W. C. A. Mackenzie, "Hilton," Havelock North, whicli was solemnised this afternoon. The liev. Steplicn Weynioutk ofiiciated at tlie cereruony at St. Luke's Clxurcli, Havelock North, wliicli had been beautifully decorated by Mrs Jack Chambers, assisted by the bride 's friends. Large bowls were arranged with red and white camellias, japonica and delicate greenery. During the ceremony Major Oldham presided at the prgau. Magnolia brocaded sabm was choocu by tne bride -for her beautiful gown which was cut oil priucess liues with a long littiug skirt lucked at the waistline and iiared into a long train. A littie turnover collar iinished the higii neekline and the corsage had tiny covered buttons froni the neck. to waist at the back. The long sleeves were given shoulder fullness with littie tucks and were tight-litting at the wrist and iinished with tiny buttons. She wore shoes of matching brocaded satin and a beautiful family veii of old lace enhance'd the beauty of her govvn. She carried a hand spray of white camellias, pansies and parma violets with delicate f'ern. , The four maids were the Misses Mary Wall, Molly Jeiferd, Shena W'hite and Beverley Vallance (Masterton), and their gowns of cherry georgette were mounted on taffeta in the same shado. They were fashioned with stiifened iluted collare matching the flarcd basques and fluted cufts iinished the long fitbmg sleeves. The sltirts were very f ull- and trained and the wiue frill which edged the hem of the taffeta slips gave an effoet of added fullness at the hem. Each maid wore velvet sandals in the same shade and a pearl Juliet cap, and carried a hand spray of' white camellias with green ribbons. Their gifts from the bridegroom were pearl-beaded evening purses. The best man was Mr Dick Hewitt, of Masterton, and the groomsmen wero Messrs Jock and Bill Mackenzie, and Pat Donnelly. Ushers at the churcli were Messrs Wai Ormond,- David Neilson, Douglas McHardy, and Tom Blythe. Mr Thornley Sherratt gave his daughter away. The wedding reception was held at "Wharenui," the home of the bride '3 patents, Mr and Mrs Thornley Sherratt, who received the guests. Mrs Sherratt wore a model ensemble of navy blue wool georgette with threequarter coat and f rock, the latteT having an inset of oyster shaded satin at the neck. She wore a navy blue hat wuth touches of red in the trimminu
and carried a bouquet of seariet camellias and carnations, purple pansies and maidenhair fern." Mr and Mrs W. C. A. Mackenzie, the bridegroom 's patents, assisted to receive tlie guests, Mrs Mackenzie wearing a gown '' of black and white patterned chiffon with a black georgette coat and blaek hat iinished an front with a blaek and white spray. Her bouquet was of palest pink camellias, tiny blue daisies and feru3. The reception was a particularly bright and jolly one. Tho wedding breakfast was arranged in a large marquee on the lawn, and the tables were gaily. decorated with bowls of pink japonica and fern, artistically arranged by Miss Nita McHardy. During the breakfast the bride cut the wedding cake, -which had been made by Mrs E. CaTO, and the toast to the bride and bridegroom was proposed by Mr F. B. Donnelly. When the bride and bridegroom later left for their honeymoou, the bride had changed into a tailored suit of greyblue Harris tweed worn with a jumper of pale pink ahgoxa. She wore a smart navy blue hat, navy shoqs and accessories. Among the guests at the wedding were the bride 's grandfather, Mr Richard Sherratt, of Gisborne, -Mrs Ilubert White, of Gisborne, Mr and Mrs Donald Cameron (Masterton), Mr and Mrs Jack McLeod (Gisborne), Mjss Lorna Blundell (Masterton) and Miss Paddy Levin (Feilding).'
