Whangarei Man Fined

WHANGAREI, Last Night. William Ballautyue, a sustenance man, was .fined £25 aud costs by Mr. G. N. Morris, S.M., in the Whangarei Police Court to-day for maldng a false .declaration of his private income, thereby ob'taining benefits from the Employment Fund to the extent of £12, to which he was not entitled. It was stated that Ballantyne indicated that he had only £1 a week, but it was later found that his wife was earnuig £2, from two sources. Ballantyne was given a month dn which to pay.
