PALMERSTON N., This Day, Badminton players, the very best that each district could muster, were seen in action in Palmerston North during the week-end when the annual tournament between Wellington, Manawatu, Wanganui, Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa was staged. The games revealed a decided improvement in the standard Of play compared with previous touxnaments. Complete arrangements were | made by the Manawatu committee and the visitors were loud in their praises for the facilities prOvided and hospitality shown. A large sliare of the work •fell on the shoulders of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. MeDonald and players showed their appf eeiation by presenting them with an electric toaster, according them cheers and musieal honours, Cheers were also given for the ladieS who were in cliarge of the catering arrangements. The tournament resulted in a win for Wellington with Manawatu nest.
