Gruesome Find by Whangarei Gardener POLICE INVESTIGATING

WHANGAREI, This Day. . While digging in th0 garden of his bome, No. 2 Zealandi street, yesterday, Mr. Desmond Wood dug up two skulls, The police were called, and as a result of further digging operations a few more bones were unearthed These included a section of a jaw, with the teeth attached. The bono? are thought to be of considerable age — possibly up to 100 years. Mr. E. J. Wood thinks that one skull differs in the shape of the forehead from the Maori skulls he has previ.ously examined. One skull was broken in a way which looked as though a bullet has passed through it. The polic0 are making further inquiries.
