Flewellyn, A. Magill and S. Sneddon are young New' Zealanders, the fifth man, Mr J. Grant, being an Ekiglishn* ifl. The fact that they have been dissatisfied with the fooriditions under which they lived and worked on Shn-, day lsland was easily deducable, but of those conditions and of their relationships with the rest of the settlers, they would not speak. They would not even discfiss the arrangierj|nt iinder which they went to the. island or their hopes of isl and life.
