KING'S BOUNTY FOR MRS ANDERSON
£3 Cheque From Buckingham Palace • THE HASTINGS TRIPLETS The King's Bounty of £3 has been granted to Mrs J. Anderson, of Kahuranaki, the mother of the triplets born in Hastings on CoronaRon Day. The youngsters are at present receiving special attention and supervision at a1 home in Wellington and are making exeellent progress in their development. Advice of tho grantlng of the King's Bounty is given in the following letter received by the editor of the HeraldTribune from the offioial secretary to his Excellency the Governor-General, Viscount Galway: — "With reference to your letter of the I9th May, addressed to the private secretary to the King, bringing under notice the fact that the wife of Mr J. Anderson, oi Kahuranaki, Hawke '3 Bay, had given birth to triplets 011 Coronation Day, aiid suggesting that his Majesty anight be graciously pleased to send a brief message to the parents of the children, I am directed to let you know that the GovornorGeneral has been informed that, while the motive underlying your suggestion was warmly appreciated, the request could not be acceded to as it did not fall within the category of those occasions when special messages are eent. "His Majesty has, hOWOver,- commanded that the King's Bounty of £3 be paid to Mrs Anderson; and a cheque for this amount has now been received from Buckingham Palace, and is being forwarded to her to-day."
