CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. The Christchurch Hunt races were lield to-day at Riccarton in fine weather. The totalisator handled £17,212, as compared with £9868 two years ago. The track was firm and there was a large attendance. Results: CHRISTCHURCH HUNT CUP STEEPLECHASE, of £50; about 2 miles. l-l KELLY THE CROW, 12.9 (Mr. "J. S. Hazlett) 1 ;-3 Nightwind, 11.2 (Mr. R. Time, 5.16. Cock o' the North took charge soon Tter the start, Valpeen, Streamlinej '."octarnus, Tudor and Forest Glow ollowing in that order. Streamline alundered at the brush at the top of the straight, where Forest Glow fell. Valpeen was alongside Coek o' the North at the stand double with Streamline, Nocturnus, Burglar and Tudor all handy. Cock o' the North went on again in the lead and at the post and rails, Stream line, Tudor and Nocturnus were next, with Valpeen dropping back. Royal Limond then made a move, but he ran ofl at the top of the straight, where Cock o 3 the -North was showing the way to Streamline, Tudor 'and Nocturnus. Going to the last fence, Nocturnus took third place and challenged strongly on the flat, Cock o' the North beating him by a head. Streamline was four lengths back, with gaps to Burglar and Tudor. Grey Honour, Bay Duke, Concertpitch, Rebel Chief. and Dictato were prominent early. Rebel Chief was showing out from Concertpitch in the bunch at the end of two furlongs. Dictate had drifted back, but came ^ on again in the straight. Concertpitch caught Rebel Chief at the distance, but Dictate came through fast on the rails to win by a length. Cohcertpitch stalling off Shy's late run by half a length. Queen of Song was a length further back, then came Rebel Chief, Greek Gold, Land Raid and Fiord.
