€S> ' • ' Taradale Parishioners Meet FINANCES IMPROVE There was a good attendance o£ parishioners at the annual J meeting, of All Saints' Parish, Taradale, which was held in the Church Hall, Taradale. The* viear, Canon A. Hodge, presided. In presenting the annual balancesheet, the treasurer, Mr H. R. Clark, said that during the past year the receipts were £588 1/10 and the expenditure £546 8/5, leaving a balance of receipts over expenditure of £41 15/7. For the previous year the expenses had exceeded receipts by £84 17/6. A loan of £100 was obtained from tbe diocese during the year, for the purpose of painting and repairingf the church, Sunday school and vicarage. Of this money £35 was still earmarketl for repairs, so that in reality the receipts for the year had only just exceeded the expenditure. Rates were higher by £1 16/1. Lighting and heating were lower by £l 7/3. All th'e other annual charges were practically the same. Amounts donated and collected for the General Diocesan Fund were £24 8/2, foreign misions £29 18/2." The total receipts for the year were £167 more than last year. The improvements " in the parish finances have been due largely to the efforts of the Women's League and, on behalf of the vestry, Mr Clark thanked them sincerely for their assistance. He also . thanked all other belpere, particularly the vicar, lay readers,. Sunday school and Bible Class teachers, the choir and organist, Mrs Kelly and the collectors. The following appointments were made : — Vicar's warden, Mr 1. F. Langley ; people's warden, Mr H. It. Clark; synodsman, Mr. H. R. Clark ; auditor, Mr H. Bull ; vestrymen, Messrs A. S.
