A London garage meehanic, Mr Peter Neal, aged 28. hopes to be the first man to fly in a rocket, Working secretly in a small shed he lias already constructed the sliell of an experimental model, which he will test shortly when he lias received a Honie office permit. If the trial fiights are successful he will tlien start work on an 80ft. mancarrying projectile, with which he hopes to make a transatlantic crossing from England to the United States in about two hours.
