HASTINGS HOME LEAGUE ENTERTAIN MANY GUESTS

Entertain Many Guests. The Hastings Home League held ihcir wcekly meeting on Monday afternoon in the Salvation Army Citadel, Warren street. An invitation had been given to all other women 's organisalions to attend and these were well repvesented by the following members: Mrs R. Sunderland and Mr,s A. R. Greenwood (Plunket Society), Mrs J. B. Pickering (Red Cross), Mrs C. B. Boggis (Baptist W.M.U.), Mrs G. A. hladdison (Mayoress), Mrs A. F. Glenny (Hastings Townswomen's Guild), Mrs H. R. French (Methodist W.M. A»sociation), Mrs J. Wilson and Mrs Puckingham (W.C.T.U.), Mrs C. Griffths (St. Andrew's Presbyterian 1 Guild), Mrs H. Lovell Smitli (Women 's Gommunity Club), and also ropresentatives of the Napier Home League. xYfter the opening song Major Marchall welcomed all the visiting guilds to the rally, hoping they would all en,loy a very pleasant afternoon. A furiher welcome was extended to the visitors by Lieut.-Colonel Grattan, who was visiting Hastings in connection willl the Salvation Army jubilee. Mrs G. A. Maddison extended greetings and thanks to the ' Salvation Army Ilome League on behalf of all the different guilds that were represented. Lieut.-Colonel Grattan thanked Mrs Maddison and later gave a brief t.alk en Home life and Mother. Several items were then given: vocal duet, Miss N. Batchelor and Mrs W. Stewart; recltation, Mary Buckingham; pianoforte solo, Miss A. Upton". After this Mrs Grattan read the Seripture lesson, talcing for her subject, ;'Dieanis," and this was listened to most attentively and was - very intercsting to visitors and members. On behalf of the Napier Home Lengue Mrs Eoberts extended greetings.to Hastings and with. the sipging of several choruses and the hymn "Stand up, Stanrt up for Jesus," the Lieut.-Colonel pronounced the Benediction. Afternoon tea was then served by Mrs Yenables and helpers.
