Mr H. Fletcher, of Waipawa, who. has been on a holiday visit to Auckland and Wellington, haa returned hon;e, Mr G. Taylor, naanager of the Waipawa hranoh of the Rauk of New Zealand, left yesterday, accompanied by Mrs Taylor, pn a holiday visit to Hamilton and Auckland, Durjng Mr Taylor' s absence, Mr A, j, Feygu§on, of Weliipgton ia acting-manager of the bank. The funeral of the late Mra J. P. Carswell, of Waihua, took place on Tuesday afternoon, there hein^ a large attendance of country settlers. The Rev. C. E. Hyde, vicar of St. Paul's Church, ofEciated, both at the late home of the deceased and at the graveside. Mr Peter Johansen, of Carterton, returned to Norsewood on Thursday after attending the Read — Fothergill wedding. He "was the guest of Mr and Mrs R. Anderson, and Mr and Mrs H. P. Mortensen, of Garfteld. SDs McCulloch, of Freshford, South Island, who arxived at Norsewood early in June to attend the wedding of her nieco, aud has been making a round of visits to friends. in Feilding, Napier and Xe llohunpp, districts is at present the guest of Mr and Mrs J, McCulloch, of Te Whiti, Norsewood, prior to leaving for her home in the south, early in August. Mrs M. Grainger, of Otane, ia on a visit to Wairoa. Mr Alex Swainson, long timo jresident at Tuai, is under transfer to the highways branch of the P.W.D, at Rotorua and leaves foy there soon. Mr A. D M. Laing, Government veterinarian, at Hastingis, reaqhed here on Tuesday and ia making an official inspectiou. M.essra W. 'j. Clavk, H. Roberts, L. E. Galbraitli aud J. M. Goldrick, have returned from Suva, where they engaged in a bowh'ng tuurnainent.
