(Eeceived 28, 12.40 p.m.) WIMBLEDON, July 27. Amexica won the Davis Onp. ^ Engiand lost both the remaining singles. Parker defeated Hare, 6—2, 6 — 4, 6 — 2; and Budge defeated Austin 8 — 6, 3 — 6, 6 • t>— Thg dull weather reacted against Hare and Parker, who start'ed somnolently. The American awakened first and broke two of the Englishman's services for the set, 6 — 2. Hare, jwho thrived on Budge 's speed on Saturday, was unable to counter Parker 's versa* tility or deal with his changes' of pace; moreover his slowness of foot enabled Parker to outmanoeuvre him. . The Englishman won two iove service games, but the American took the set, : 6—4, Hare won the first two games in thw third set but after that relapsed, double-f aulting, over-driving and netting. Parker won six games in succession for the set, thus givmg Parker the match and America the Davis Cup. The Budge- Austin match was now a mere exhibition. Austin led 5—2 in the first set, but Budge won the set, 8—6. The element of comedy pervading the match was indicated by the piuycrs exchanging racquets in the fourth set. Budge" hit four winners with Austin 's streamlined raequet.
