^ ■ Director Coming to Hastings on August 20 minister to visit central hb Arrangements have been completed by the Mayor of . Hastings, Mr. G. A. Maddison, in his capacity as ckairman of the Hawke's Bay Education Board, for the Director of Education, Mr, N. Lambourne, to visit Hastings on August 20. Mr. Lambourne will meet represen* tatives of the sehool committees in Hastings and the surrounSing districts, together with the Hastings High Sehool Board of Governors, to discuss sehQol accommodation in Hastings and particularly the proposed establishnmnt of an intermediate sehool in Hastings or tlie scheme for post-primary education to begin at the age pf 11 plus. Mr. Maddison also mentioned this morn'ing that he interviewed the Miniater of Education, the Hon, P. Fraser, and received an assurance that upon the return to New Zealand of the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, and the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, he would meet the people of Waipukurau and Waipawa in a conference to discuss post-primary education in that distrpct.
