General inference^— The intense antieyclone which has been moving across Australia during the past few days has •xtended over the Tasman Sea, especially the northern portion. At the same time the depxession to the eastward is passing away. Pressure has therefore risen considerably over the Dominion. A series of slight secondary depressions continues, however, to crosB the South Island. Winds rather vari•ble, but with moderate to strong south-westerlies predominating. Weather. — Cold and changeable, with eccasional showers in many places, and snow on the ranges, but gradually irnproving. Seas. — Eather rough to rough. THE SUN.
