(Received 26, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 25. The Spanish insurgents reported last evening the tecaptttre of Bumete, after severe fighting, but Madrid today declafed that oeeupation was only partial, and the insurgents have since been driven out, with heavy losses. Many fires are raging over a wide area, due to incendiary bombs. A message from Barceloua states that a rebel air taid killed 65 persons and wounded 150. Continuing their drive westward the Government claims that its troops have entered Navalagamella. Government planes. contintie to boxnb' a nilmber of towns, * aero^Umes and railway station* being the main objectives, It is clainied that twelve aero.planes were destroyed at aerodromes. The police announce that a search carried out in a big bahk ili Madrid, where the possessions of persons 9uspected of pro-Fr&nco activity stored their securities, jewels valued at £300,000 were seized. A Salamanca message states that General Franco decreed July 25 as a day of national homage to his soldiers. Every person was morally obliged to visit hospitals and honour the wounded, also to deposit ■ a gif t in publie boxes. Every soldier should be sent a letter by his family and friends.
