The Eev. C. E. Newbould, iately canon of St. Petei"'s Cathedral, Hamilton, diocese of Waikato, has been appointed vicar of llainton with Sixhills, Lincoln. The patron is Lord Henage. In Octoberj 1936, Canon Newbould was appoiuted priest-iu-charge of St. Michael aud All Angels, Gainsboroifgh, Liucolnshire. Dr. H. L. Richardson, of the chemistry department, Kothamsted Experimental Station, England., has been appointed adviser in soils and fertilisers to the Nationai Agricultural Eesearch Bureau, Shaolingwei, Nanking, China. Dr. Richardson reeeived his training at Victoria University College, Wellington, and at the University of London, and joined, the Eothamsted staff in 1927.
