Dr. 0. L. E. L. Sheppard, Christchurch, has been admitted as a Fellow of the Eoyal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. ' Dr. E. V. Maxwell, Millerton, is to leave Auckland to-day by the Mariposa for Suva, where he will. join the colonial medical serviee. Mr. F. Callahan, who has been booking elerk at the Dannevirke railway station for several years, has reeeived notiee of his transfer to Fordell as stationmaster. He will be replaced by Mr. A. E. Tarr of Wellington. , Mr. L. McLean, a member of 'the exeeutive of the Hawke's Bay Sheepowners' TJnion ,has been nominateJ to • the electoral eommittee of the New ' Zeaiand Meat Board 'by the union. The Eev. C. E. Newbould, iately canon of St. Petei"'s Cathedral, Hamilton, diocese of Waikato, has been appointed vicar of llainton with Sixhills, Lincoln. The patron is Lord Henage. In Octoberj 1936, Canon Newbould was appoiuted priest-iu-charge of St. Michael aud All Angels, Gainsboroifgh, Liucolnshire. Dr. H. L. Richardson, of the chemistry department, Kothamsted Experimental Station, England., has been appointed adviser in soils and fertilisers to the Nationai Agricultural Eesearch Bureau, Shaolingwei, Nanking, China. Dr. Richardson reeeived his training at Victoria University College, Wellington, and at the University of London, and joined, the Eothamsted staff in 1927.
