MARTON, Last Night. Tbe Rangitikei Hunt Club's steeplecbase meeting was lield "on Saturday in iine weather except for ligbt rain late in tbe afternoon. Tbere was a very good attendance and tbe totalisator bandled £9193 10/-, as compared with £3045 10/- last year, tbe increase being £614S. Tbe course, tbougb soft. was in good order and tbe racing was interesting tbrougbout, a nurnber of tbe fmdsbes being close. His Excellency the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, was present, and he presented tbe tropbies for tbe Hunt Club * Steeplechase, won by tbe Tara-naki-owned Sleepy, and for tbe Ladies ' Braclet.
