Takakan Uow Heading Competition DRAWN GAME PLAYED

WAIPUKURAU, Saturday. Drawing with Porangahau in the grandstand game at Central Park, Waipukurau, on Saturday afternoon, Takapau senior retained. their lead in the Central Hawke's Bay Rugby Sub-Union's competition. In the only other senior match . which was played, Waipukurau de.feated Omakere by 22 points to 15. A tliird game was to have been played between Old Boys and Te Aute, but the latter did not turn out, giving Old Boys a win by tbe easy route. Although no rain had fallen since Thursday night, the ground was very. heavy underfoot and became slippery as play progressed. For a bitterly cold afternoon, the attendance was fairly good. After Saturday's matclies, the teams in tlie senior competition are plaeed in the folloiving order : — Takapau, 21 points. Waipukurau, 21 points. Otane (not including Saturday's game), 16 points. Porangahau, 14 points. Old Boys, 14 points. Omakere, 12 points. Te Aute, 10 points. . Te Aute, 10 points. Tikokino, 2 points. Ongaonga (not including Saturday's game), 110 points. Waipukurau is one team tliat.has not yet had a bye, so that Takapau actually head the competition, having. scored tlie same number of p.oinls, , while playiug oue match less.
