ATTACKED BY CROWD
Belgians Withdraw Irom Tour de France (Received 24, 9.45 a.m.) BORDEAUX, July 23. Insults, missiles and blows from the crowd caused the withdrawal of the Belgian team from the Tour de France cycle race while they were yvinning. Earth and stonea were thrown ahd pepper was flung into the eyes of the riders ahd level-crossing gates were ciosed, delaying the competitors. The spectators' WTath was due to tho French riders being penalised for technical faults, the team's leaders accuaing the Belgian riders of trickery.
