"DARK JOURNEY" TO-NIGirr. A spy drama magnlficently presented and with an arresting theme, comes in the Cosy Theatre to-night. It is "Da^rk Journey," which was ptodueed for London Filmis by Victor Saville, English director of repute. Those already privileged to see Conrad Veidt and Vivien Leigh, a beantiful actress who has had a* phenomenal sereen iiareer, in this etirring film, agree that it is outstanding entertainment. StoeVholni during the Great War years provides the backgrounds of the storv, a thrilling and romantic oue of couuterespionage." Conrad Veidt has a strong dramatic role as a German spy who is torn between duty and love. Although a neutral capital, Stoekholm was a liappy hunting ground for spies of a.11 nations. 'Baron Kan von Marwitz, an apparent deserter from the German navy, seeks peace in the frivolity of the capital's gay life. He falls in love with Madeleine Godard, whose shop provides a cloak and means of commqnicai tion with Paris for her political aetivities. The story is strong and full of surprising situations. Thrilling highlights include the eneounter of a Swedish packet-boat with a German TTboat and many other sea battlea. There are scenes depicting with stark rcality a combat between a Q-ship and a German subraarine, resulting in the destruetion of the latter. Also screening is the latest Mickey Monse cartoon.
