50 More Schools Closing in Victoria patents criticise delay J MELBOURNE, July 23. ' Although there were no new cases o. paralysis to-day, the Education Department decided to close about 50 schoolr in a, large atea surrounding the affected part, in view of the fact that recent cases have been coming from parts farther afield. AU picture theatres in the area are ceasing matinees, and children wiU not be admitted to night performanees. j, There is a strict prohibition on chil•dren from the closed schools transferring to other schools. Much dissatisfaction is expressed by the parents at the authorities' delay in jtaking action. The official view wheji school closing was previously suggest ed, was that it would not be helpful.
