MARAENUI GOLF CLUB HOLDS SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL BALL

The decorations were simple and delightfully effective. Graceful pahu ironds and golden wattle werearrauged along the walls of tbe hall interspersed witb colourcd lights, The orchestral dais, Where Lc3 Henry's orchestra played popular dance music, was massed with small palms and shrubs. Centred in the dais greenery was a semi-oirele of biack on which the Clu'b's inonogram was'emblazoncd in silvcr. Large spot lights ..were arr^ngod in eaeh corner of the hall and tbe large centre lights were fringe-shaded in black and silver. The loung© whieh was draped with flags wag most comfortably furnished. Gasson, of Napier, who wore a gown of palest shell pink satin.with an overdress of stiffened net in the same shado with tiny bows of satin ribbou frimming the bouffant skirt and front of the corsage. She can'ied a posy. of pastel .flowers, a spray of the same flowers being wom in her hair.
