Every now and again we read in the papers that "oue more unfortunate" has paid the penalfcy tor smoking in bed. How many have lost their lives in that way, who can say? Smokers are often stupidly careiess. Smoking in bed is certainly a dangerous habit, but because some smokers persist in running foolish risks, is that any reason why all smoking should be taboo? As reasonable would it be Jto prohibit all sport because some sportsmen are foolhardy. But smoking in bed is not the only dangerous habit practised by smokers. What about the habitual use of tobacco well-lsnown to be full of nicotine? And there are lots of brands like that, which may aifect heart, throat or netves. Happily for New Zealanders our own famous toasted brands, Cut Plug No. ,.10 (Bullshead), Navy Cut No. 3 Bulldog), Cavendish, Riverhead Gold and Uesert Gold are as free from nicotine as they can possibly be. And wkile toasting purifies, thus effectually it helps at the same time to give these blends their renowned ilav^i* and matchless bpuquet.*-
