GOLF TOURNAMENT
» TAKAPAU CLUB'S PLAY The Takapau golf tournament opened yesterday in excellent weather, although rain later in the day interfered with play to some extent, The entriea are good and the course is in fine condition. YesterdayY play was devoted to tho qualifying rounds over 30 holes. Tlie best gross score was tliat of L. A. lieid with 147 for the two rounds, while D. Tareha did the best net score of 64 in the morning round, while L. .13. Drummond with 68 took tbe honours in the afternoon. The i'ollowing are the scores for the two rounds. —
