OAMARU, This Day. Tfie death has occurred of Mr. John Rcnnie McCulloch, aged 80, fatmer, thc originator of tfie Ngapara Velvet variety of wfieat, a noted breeder of Border Leicester sheep, a li±'e meinber of th North Otago A. and P. Association, a director of tfie Waitaki Farmers' Freezing Company, ehairman of directors of the North Otago Farmers' Go-operative Association, and a member of the Oamaru Harbour Board and the Waitaki Power Board. He was a Past-Master of the Masonic Lodge 68. He was born in 1857 at Wigtownshire, Scotland, and came to New Zealand on the ship William Davie in 1869',' and had been a resident of the Oamaru district since 1875. He is survived by a widow, three daughters and five sons.
