RUATORIA, Last Night. Criticism of the system of sustenance was levelled by the Hon. P. C. Webb, acting-Miuister of Labour, at Ruatoria to-night, when he said the Government hoped that, by its efforts te put the unemployed baek into productive work, this system would be ended in the uot far distant future. The Minister said he had a distinct dislike for sustenance. . It was a demoralising system and had a psyehological reflex. The people who paid the money into the funds eventually found themselves thinking they were paying. to keep men who would not work. • Without hesitation, he asserted that there were as good men out of work as. there were in work. The Government w.ould npt entertain anything from men who could work but would not work,
