NATIVE SETTLEMENT

More Land Taken Over An additional aroa of 25,880 acres of land in the North Island has been brought under Part 1 of tho Native Laud Amendmcnt Acty 1926, and. included in native land dovelopment scbemcs, accordiug to notices published in tho latest Gazctte. Seven schemes are affected, the rcspective areas being as follows: — Waiapo-Matakaoa, 344 acres; Kaipara, 2371 acres; Te Kaha (Maungaroa section), 22,576 acres; Waikato, 45 acres; Kawhia, "298 acres; Otorohanga (nevv scheme)', 103 acres; Tumaeke (Alexandra, new scheme), 147 acres. A further 259 acres have been transferred from the Waikato scheme to thc Tumaeke scheme.
