PORT AHURIRI SCOTS
Monthly Ingleside The Port Caledonian Society held its monthly ingleside in the Buffalo Hall, Port Ahuriri, last evening, when there was again a very large attendanco, including visitors from Auckland, Christchurch, Hawera, and elsewhere. The usual old-time and modern dancing was indulged in to musie suppliod by Mr and Mrs Berry, and this was, as aldays, very enjoyable. The programme of national and faucy toe-dancing was on this occasion provided by Miss Hazel Lee's pupils, and was an especially fine programme indeed, the variety of the items and the uxcellence of the dancing earning repcated rcalls, while the very attractive and artistic costuming for the several Menis was much appreciated. The Pipe Band played a number of .selections, and Pipe-Major Lawson piped for the national dances. Mr W. J. Key was a very efficient M.C. Chieftain M. Macdonald, in apologising for the absence of the Chief, Mr J. McConnell, through illne&s, expressed his pleasure at seeing such a large gathi;ring and so many visitors, fo wkom, on hehalf of the Port Caledonian Society, he extended a hearty welcome. He hoped they would take back wfEB. them ro ctlieir respective homes memories of a plcasant evening spent at Port Ahuriri, and he could nssure them and all friends from other parts of a hearty welcome whenever they attended an ingleside at the Port. He thauked the performers for the very fine programme i submitted and Miss Lee for the trouble she liad taken in preparing it. A light supper was served and fully appreciated.
