Red earth and ' carnelian — two shades of the rusty red family— will he noticdtible among accessory colors, and will be the principal accents on beige, navy, pastels and white. Prints will be with us again in_many forms. Monotones, splashed florals, paisleys and the new and very attractive bayaderes. These last named, inspired by the designs on Indian dancing skirts, have now come to include all designs arranged in stripe formation. Other prints include bordered prints and the butterfly prints originated by Schiaparelli. Skirts tvill be 14 inches from the ground for day wear. For trimmings patent leather in a variety of hues will be largely ueecL There is a trend to the romantic for tlfe hallroom and general evening wear. Boifffant skirts and moulded bodices will he popular, and the slim svelte evenilig gown will be seen in satins, crepes and velvets. Laces are mentioned as certain favorites. and sheers. some-
times , allied with lace, are to be the vogue. A very striking fashion note is seen in the candy stripes for evening wear. Black, white and pastels are mentioned in that order for evening, and Gaugin pink is to be the leader in the pastel class. Included in the new color list are melody pink, waltz blue, blue-bellf goiden amber, Bahama hlue, Chiiiese turquoise, cruise grey, wineberry and canna rust. Colors for coats keep to a general trend with navy, beige and hi-yellow for sports coats. Redingotes, dressmaker coats, saonters and jackets are all to be worn, and angora is a rnuch featured material. Materials for day wear include printed or plain silk crepes, crepons, sheers, pique and silk linens, fine boucle, and embroidered fabrics. Sailors with turned up or straight brims are the basic type of hats for spring. Toques and turbans, some with open crowns, and bonnets, are also in the picture. The trend is to coarse and shiny straws including racello, birdsnest, and linen' straw.
