This romaclcable production is a revelation of what actiug oan be. It is no exaggeration to eay that Miss Bergner holds the audience in thrall. There is a subtle atmosphere in the theatre, Tliroughout the soreening there is a subtle atmosphere in the theatre, Throughout the screening there is a deep eilence, unbroken even by the usual semi-surreptitious rustling of paper bags. There is something mysterious about her acting^ She makes a point. It is never laboured, but everybody feels what she wishes them to feel. Her features are extremely mobile. Commentmg ou the production of "Escape Me Never," the Melbourne "Argus" says : — "Bergner can convey every shade of ineaning and every emotiou with the utmost economy.
