Hospital Board Urges National Insurance

That the public who derive~pleasure from Rugby football in New Zealand jshould do mere to meet the exgenses of | injured piayers, was an opinion express!ed at yesterday 's meeting of the Pakujerston North Hospital Board by the jmanaging-secretary, Mr A. j. Phillipps. f ' ' We have a large number of injured ' '.piayers coming to tho inst'itution," obIserved Mr Phillipps. "The boys are ifrom 18 to 19 years of age in clerical j and other jobs' for which they' are > rewarded by a 'com paratively smalll wag-e , and they leave the institution loaded with a big bill. Mr Phillijips added ' that the Manawatu Rugby UniOn guara&teed an injured player's account up to three guineas bnt only if the player was a member of a voluntary insurance scheme'.
