Comprehensive Questionnaire To Be Circulated BISHOP^S PLAN

WELLINGTON, Last Night. *13 ascertain the attitude of modern youtn to such major problems of life as •religion, sex, drink and gambling, a list of questions is to be circulated among young people of all soeial classes in the Wellington Diocese by the Bishop, Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbo Holland. The questionnaire was drafted by the Diocesan Youth Council and was to-day presented to the Synod, which approved ;the proposal. About two thousand copies of the questionnaire are to be distributed immediately. The list of ques;tions is as follows: — Please tell me your name and address (if you would like to) and age and oceupation, What do you think the Church (a) is; (b) ought to he? Is there any place for it in the life of tho community? Is there any place in the life of the , community for public worship? • - Do you attend? Does it help you? Might it if differently conducted? — • Any suggestions. Do you know anything of the Bible? .What do you think of it? . What idea does the term "praycr" eall up in your mind? Is there anything in prayer? What do you know about Christ? How did you come by your knowledge? What do you think of Him? Do you think therfe is a God? What sort of being is He? Does our attitude to Him matter much? Are there any real standards of right and wrong? Why do we call one thing right and another wrong? What is the basis of our moral standards? What would you consider xoughly right or wrong about telling the truth or not, unselfishness, justicc, sex intercourse, divorce, drunkenness, gambling, What are the things, if any, in the world as you see it that need changing? — Any suggestions as to how the changes might be brought about. Now I have asked you plenty of questions. Any questions you would like to ask me I will trv to answer in all honesty. The Bishop will enclose a personal letter and it adds that identity will be treated in the strictest confldence.
