PALMERSTON N. This Day. As the result of a police raid on a. laundry in Main street last night. Ah Hong and Joe Jack were each fined £12, 10/-, in default oue month 's iinprisonment, on a charge of being found on premises used for the purposo of smoking opium. Fong Sang and Sue Poy were each fined £25, in default two months' iinprisonment, on a charge of smoking opium. Detective-Sergeanf Meiklejokn gave evidence that when he entered the premises he found a small room litted up exciusively for the purpose of smoking opium. He .saw two opium lamps burning and Fong Sang and Sue Poy suioking.
