Mr. T. A. Moodi.e, of Napier, manager for Dalgety and Co., Ltd., has left for Sydney on a short business trip. Mr E. L. Cullen, M.P., has left Hastings for Wellington, and will latcr visit Morrinsville and Huatoki to iuvestigate native liousing. Mr G. A. Maddison, Mayor of Hastings, left by the mail train this morning for Wellington. He will make various representations regarding borough and Education Board matters. Mr. E. T. Gifford, of the finn of Ebbett aird Gifford, Hastings, has been elected a member of the council of the Hawke's Bay District Law Society to fill the vacancy causod by the "death of Mr. Cecil JDuff. * I Mr A. O. Ounningham, who has been -on the staff of the legal firm of Messrs Sainsbury, Logan and Williams, Napier, for the past 13 years, is to leave Napier early next month for Katikati, Bay of Plenty, where ho will open a branch office for a Paeroa legal firm. Mr Cunninghiam has taken a keen interest in various societies and sports clubs in Napier, being a prominent member of the Napier Repertory Players, the Hawke's Bay Lawn Tennis Club and the Napier Round Table Club. Mr and Mrs William T. Grundy, Hawker street, Wellington, celebrated their diamond wedding on Saturday, and among the many messages of congratulation received was one from their Majesties, the King and Queen, which arrived shortly after 9 a.m. on Saturday. The message read: "The King and Queen send you hearty congratulations and good wishes on your diamond wedding day." (Signed), Private Secretary, Buckingham Palace, London. The Governor-General, Lord Galway, also sent the following message: "I send you my warmest congratul'ations on the celebration to-day of the sixtieth anniversary of your marriage. — Galway." Mr and Mrs Grundy were married on July 17, 1877,at~Old Egbaston Church, Birmingfham, England, by the Hev. Canon Bowlby
