(By Telegraph
CHBISTCHIJBCH, Lftst Night. Criticising delegates to the New Education Eellowship for not making reference to the work done by Boman Catholic sehools, Eev. Pather Timoney, in his sermon at the Boman Catholic Cath, edral to-day, claimed that they had said nothing on the subjeet, becauso they had been told not to. Beligious orders in New Zealand had gone to considerable trouble to attend tha lectures given by members of the Fellowship, Father Timoney said, qnd great interest had been taken in the new aspects of education set out by the visitors in their addresses. The delegates must have been impressed with -the high standard of education in .New Zealand. "They kept quiet about it, because they had been told to do ao," said Father Timoney referring to the Work of Boman Catholic schOols. "Oue redeeming feature is that, towards the ond of the conferenee, they admitted that. xeligioii was the suprfime ideal of education.' ' , He added that, i£ the delegates earried on their nobl© work of ediicating all nations, they would do more for peaee than was being done by the •*ague of Nations.
